Bali - Activities

Bali offers travelers of all ages an enormous range of activities to enjoy. Whether you're wanting to get some adrenaline pumping, or simply to lie back and take it easy, Bali is the place to come.

Being an island, water activities generally top the list for activity options. A small selection of these water-oriented activities includes surfing some of the best waves in the world, swimming with dolphins, cruises, snorkeling & diving in crystal-clear tropical waters, fishing, sailing and paragliding.

Non-beach related outdoor activities include river rafting, mountain trekking, cycling, horseback riding, observing local artisans create their arts and crafts, and visiting museums and zoos. A large portion of the northwestern has been designated as a National Park. Hiking in any of the mountain areas can be as easy or as difficult as you'd like it to be. Waterfalls with spectacular drops of hundreds of feet, and often pools suitable for swimming at the bottom can be found all over Bali. Some involve a hike to get there, some are conveniently located right along the roadside. There are also both hot and cool natural springs where you can relax, cleanse your mind and soothe away any aches and pains you may have brought with you—or acquired from your activities.

Many visitors enjoy visiting the many traditional markets, such as Pasar Badung in downtown Denpasar. Other popular tourist destinations include Pura Jagatnatha temple and the Bird Market and catching a glimpse of Balinese culture at Bali Provincial State Museum, Taman Werdi Budaya art center and College of Performing Arts.
